The Coalition provides support to Neighbourhood Group Members and the communities they serve in four primary ways:
Neighbourhood Group members access city and school spaces at special rates and have the required insurance for their events, volunteers, and participants.
Neighbourhood Group members receive some core funding to support their annual projects and programs. In addition, the Coalition seeks additional funding through grants, community fundraising, and partners to support special projects, summer camps, and priority and emerging issues.
The Coalition addresses systemic barriers faced by many in the community. We carry community voices and perspectives forward through programs and partnerships across the city responding to collective needs; creating programs that reach the people who need access the most. This work is ongoing -- creating pathways for stories to be told, experiences to be shared, and conversations to continue.
The Coalition helps spark new ideas, supports ongoing initiatives, and incubates projects and programs. Several initiatives and programs have been supported through, or created in partnership with, the Coalition. Learn more about the projects and programs we support.
