To volunteer as a band coach, instrument teacher, performer, workshop lead, or floater volunteer, please sign up here.

Volunteer Roles:

Band Coach: Band coaches spend every afternoon helping the bands write and learn their own songs. Band coaches should have some experience with being in a band, conflict resolution, and some patience. They are responsible for 4-5 children. They should be prepared to be at camp from 12:00-2:30pm March 16-20th as well as 4pm-9pm in the evening of Friday March 20th. Band coaches receive an honorarium for their time depending on funds available.

Instrument Coach: (Drums, Bass Guitar, Vocals, Guitar): Instrument coaches teach a daily hour long hands-on lesson for a broad range of experience. They prepare students to make rock music when they split into bands for the afternoon. They are responsible for 4-5 children (a focus group working on one type of instrument at different skill-levels). They should be prepared to be at camp from 10am-12pm March 16-20th. Attendance on Friday for dress rehearsal and for the performance is appreciated, but not mandatory. Instrument coaches are welcome to stay for our lunch performances as well. Instrument coaches receive an honorarium for their time depending on funds available.

Workshop Teacher: We have two, 1 hour-long, workshops presented daily. Past topics have included History of Women in Rock Music, Dance, Movement, Audio Engineering, Mixing, Rhythm, Improvisation, etc. We’re seeking workshop topics that cover performance, confidence, audio production, music history, and songwriting, but would love to hear new ideas. Workshops are daily between 9:30-10:30am and 2-3pm. We pay workshop leaders $100 per session.

Performers: Every day, we have a band or performer play over our lunch from 12-12:30pm. We’re seeking any female, trans, or non-binary performers who are interested in playing for the campers. Performers receive $150 per session.

Floater Volunteer: Sometimes we just need floater volunteers to help us with things like carrying equipment, watching the campers at lunch time or being an extra set of eyes and ears at a rehearsal. This is a great role for someone who is only available for one day or more. High school students working towards their required volunteer hours are excepted. This is an unpaid position and no music experience is required.
