GNSC - Guelph Neighbourhood Support Coalition

Volunteer & Job Opportunities

Hello Friends,

Thank you all for reaching out and offering supports. During the pandemic, our usual volunteering opportunities have changed quite a bit. A lot of our work now is focused on food and essential needs support to the most vulnerable members of our neighbourhoods. Two current volunteer roles are:

Delivery Driver

In this role volunteers will be asked to pick up packages and deliver them to community members. You will not be asked to interact with anyone directly. You will go to a predetermined pick up site and the packages will be placed in a pick-up area along with delivery details. You will take the package(s) and delivery them to their destination. There will be a drop spot (porch, patio, front steps) where you will leave the package.

For this role you will need:

  • Access to a vehicle
  • Valid drivers license
  • Ability to lift packages of up to 30 pounds

We will supply:

  • Hand sanitizer
  • Gas cards
  • Any other PPE that is needed

Hamper Packer

In this role you will be part of a team or 2-3 people assembling food and essential need hampers for delivery. The space you will be doing this work will provide adequate social distancing. Each space has had a plan approved by WDG Public Health.

In this role you will need:

  • To be able to lift up to 30 pounds

We will supply:

  • Hand sanitizer
  • Any other PPE that is needed

We are currently compiling a list of volunteers to fill these roles. If you are interested, please:

We will be in touch asap.
